![]() ![]() Needless to say we are both very unhappy with out experiences with Teletext Holidays and advise anyone booking with them to think really hard and shop around first. We are now in touch with each other and keeping one another up to date with any outcomes. We were talking to a family from Clevedon near Bristol on the flight back who also had a similar experience. We are not the only people to be treated this way. Two weeks later I have rang again to be told "someone will ring you back within one hour. I rang two days later and was told to put it in an email when we get home, which I duly did only to be ignored. ![]() I was told that they would look in to it and ring me back. I rang teletext to asked what had happened. We arrived at the next hotel, which was disgraceful and shown to our room. When I asked how we were supposed to get there, they said they would ring for a cab but we would have to pay the fare (35Euros). The next morning we went to the reception to get a safe and were told we were in fact only booked in for one night and that arrangements had been made for us in another hotel the other side of the island(Rhodes). We arrived at 1.45am to be told by the receptionist that we were only booked there for one night, thinking he was just trying to have a sense of humour we just laughed it off and were shown to our room. Once they had our money we didn't matter. I have just texted Brent and tweeted telling them that unless I get a call today I am reporting them to Watchdog, who I know will be very interested.Booked holiday through teletext holidays and were badly let down. Have tweeted everyday this week and been promised a call back NOTHING. Last call was Friday when I demanded a cheque of which he replied ‘ I will ask head office and call you back in 1 hour’. To be fair I have had a call from Brent in India telling me I have been refunded, surprise surprise no money. I tweet everyday and am told I will get a call. Live chat is useless and the only way I get any results is by Tweeter. ![]() They said they would and I would get in 7 days. O my god, I stupidly booked a holiday for the end of the year with Teletext and all seemed ok until Gary Parker called me back asking for another £550.00 as their card wasn’t working and they couldn’t book our flights. Hopefully soon businesses will start to get back on their feet soon and start clearing backlogs of work. Unfortunately at the moment lots and lots of patience and forbearance is required. If not they may not to have paid yet, but there is no blanket 60 days post departure rule. If the room rate was non-refundable they may have paid it upfront. Teletext are likely buying the hotel through a third party bed bank or Receptive and they may have different trading conditions. “and say waiting on hotel refunds The hoteliers have hadvised that they do not get paid in advance, only up to 60 days after your holiday.” ![]() Many airlines have also not been refunding in cash, many just issuing credit notes or travel waivers. “They have refunds from airlines which they are keeping” You current do not have a right to cancel without penalty for a holiday in July and August. “In fact they have not allowed customers to cancel their holiday for July or August and the reaons may not be pandemic related.” Very limited options for Indian staff to work from home. Company operations would have come to a sudden stop. When the Indian Government places the county into lockdown they gave four hours notice. Their main contact centre is in India and has been for some time. “They have closed down phone lines, post generic responsex to emails, sealed off their mailboxes to prevent any mail, shut down offices and shipped their ops out to India.” If a flight only on a EU carrier or a flight departing from the U.K./EU it would be community regulation EU261/2004. If you have a package or linked travel arrangement it is the PTR’s which cover refunds. > Refunds are not covered by the FCO travel advisory. > As already pointed out, many companies have not been processing refunds in accordance with the Package Travel Regulations. > If this is indeed a holiday for July or August most certainly the holiday has not been cancelled due to Cv19 at this time. “Holidays cancelled due to COVID19 This is the only company that refuses refunds going against FCO guideline” Not defending them but hoping that by posting comments to your remarks you might have a better understanding of the situation. ![]()
